The Aberhart Room
This bright and cheery room features a deluxe deep pillow top queen sized mattress and down duvet with nightstands and lamps on either side of the bed. Beside the closet with full-length mirror doors is small half round writing table. This room has a 26" Hi-Definition TV with Blue Ray DVD and radio/alarm clock.
In the corner there is a wing-back chair, and on the walls are several framed prints of ships named after districts in Liverpool. Through the pocket door is the adjoining bathroom with an original large claw foot tub where you can soak your cares away or use the rain shower head. The black and white tiled bathroom also comes with washbasin and toilet.
William Aberhart was the principal of several Calgary high schools and started Calgary’s first Parent-Teacher Association. Aberhart went on to become the seventh premier of Alberta and was responsible for the creation of several anti-poverty and debt relief programs during his term in office. He also founded the Alberta Treasury Branch which today is still the only public serving government banking system in North America. William Aberhart has a medical centre and a school named after him and the Aberhart Room overlooks Aberhart Park, a small park behind the Westways.
